According to AS3959, specific construction standards apply to properties that are subject to, or likely to be subject to bushfires. These properties are identified by being in a ‘Bushfire Prone Area’.
If your property is within a Bushfire Prone Area, a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Assessment will be required. Ensuring your property receives the most accurate BAL assessment will improve its level of bushfire protection.

New homes and additions in a Bushfire Prone Area will require a BAL Assessment before any planning or building permits can be issued.
